Rwanda Closes Genocide Mourning Week Today,Honors Fallen Heros

Twenty-two years ago on this very day, Adelphine Mukabayizere was a normal six-year old girl, enjoying the love of her parents and her seven siblings in Rusizi District (then known as Commune Kamembe) in the Western Province.
By the time that the fastest genocide in history ended one hundred days later, after the Rwandan Patriotic Front defeated the genocidal government of the time, Adelphine had lost her father, a brother and two sisters.

Students told to keep skirts below the knee because of boys and male staff

If this were in our country, there would be cries of intimidation and abuse of personal rights. Some might claim how backward we still are in civilization but,can we say that about this rule in New Zealand?

Students at a New Zealand school are using the power of media to fight back after they were told their skirt hemlines were too short for school.

Australia Introduces New $5 Note and The People HATE IT! Check Out Reactions

It can happen anywhere,so I have come to see that humans are same,no matter the color or geography. We all act almost same in different situations we face.

I imagine that same reaction trailed the introduction of the 50 bucks note in my country too,and now Australians are hating on the new 5 bucks introduced by their government.

2 People Dead In Airfoce Base Shooting In Texas

SAN ANTONIO — Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide after a shooting Friday at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said.
The base was under a complete lockdown after reports of an active shooter around 8:30 a.m. Central Time.

Less than three hours later, the sheriff's office said the situation was contained and that the shooter is no longer active.

In a news conference at the base, Brig. Gen. Bob LaBrutta, the commander of the 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio, said two men were found dead in an office on the first floor of building 147 of the Medina Annex, a classroom facility known as Forbes Hall. Two Glock weapons were found at the scene, he said.

Facebook Makes Another Good Change:What Now?

As more and more online content ends up hosted on Facebook, it becomes more important for Facebook to provide ways for publishers and creators to make money.

That’s why some changes announced today to the social network’s branded content and ads policies could be a big deal.

Under the new rules, verified Facebook Pages can now share branded content (i.e., “any post — including text, photos, videos, Instant Articles, links, 360 videos, and Live videos — that specifically mentions or features a third party product, brand, or sponsor”) on Facebook.

Sometimes In April:Rwanda Remembers the Genocide 22 Years After

Many people who will read this article have heard about the movie with that title. Many may have not only heard about it but watched it too.
I still recall the deep indescribable emotions that overwhelmed me the first time I saw the movie. I had earlier seen “Hotel Rwanda” before it and later, I also saw “Shooting Dogs”. They taught me a lot about life and people. They taught me about what hatred could cause and the capacity of the human heart to perpetrate evil. I knew then man could commit any conceivable evil, no matter how atrocious. It can be considered and can equally be executed.

The Rwandan genocide is one of the heaviest moments in human history.Never will such

Instagram Is Changing; How It Will Affect You

INSTAGRAM IS CHANGING;ARE YOU AFFECTED?

I was going through Facebook today and came across a friend’s lamenting about Instagram, It made me to search and see for myself what’s actually happening.

How?

Instagram recently dropped the news that it will be adapting a non-chronological newsfeed order, similar to its big brother, Facebook. Instead of sorting posts in a familiar linear order, the new algorithm will weigh in a variety of social signals, such as a number of post engagements.

It will also consider content you liked before in an attempt to sort images in the order of “relevancy,” or as what Instagram perceives to be of most interest to you.I read a friends update on Facebook today,as they were lamenting the changes that the popular social media platform-Instagram has done is affecting them. i kept asking how.

They complained that their links are no longer visible and it seemed that Instagram wanted users to pay before they could post live links.Maybe that was their understanding but i needed to get to the roots of the issue. Here it is.

Baby,It's Not What You Think

Why do men always use this line each time they are caught  redhanded? Why does love, well cherished love ,sometimes get rocked so deep that the vibrations threaten to,and sometimes splinter the foundation to pieces and smash sweethearts against the wall?
Who really are the "devils" that "force" people to cheat on someone who loves them so dearly? I hate it each time I hear those lines from someone, but then it continues to happen.
It's another weekend.
Welcome on board, let's roll together .....
And so Ikechukwu left for Guangzhou, China to arrange for the production of his  automobile spare parts of which he is a major marketer in the area.At 34 years,Iyke( as he was fondly called by friends) was ,by the standards in the East ,nay in all the zones of Nigeria,a made man, considering his age and what it takes to get to his level of comfort without any political affiliations to anything or any man.
A young guy, nicely endowed, whom chance and preparedness launched into

I Know Courage When I See It

".......that homeless kid,who chose to go to school and do her homework under the streetlight.....now ,that's courage"
That homeless Naija kid I saw on my street, who instead of joining a gang, was out in the fields, trudging for miles through the sun and the rain with his younger brother, carrying a heavy sack on his back, with dirty clothes ,picking aluminum foils and metal scraps to sell and get themselves some of the things other privileged kids had....and maybe give some to their poor mom too...That's courage.
That young girl who, despite her social handicap, refused to sell her body at night along Opebi Allen,Awka Road, Presidential road and ,instead sells micro stuffs to her colleagues on campus to support herself and still maintain her academic pace with other mates.....That's called courage.
That poor woman who despite the bad roads, treks for kilometers from the hinterlands to sell her vegetables and other farm products in the city, just to ensure that her two kids left for her by their deceased dad, completed their secondary school...
..I call it courage.

I Slept With Many People In Your Fellowship(1)

Dada is from Kogi state. He was a final year student of Microbiology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka ,Anambra state when he met Collins Ekwe.
Collins was a nice guy, good looking and smart, though he was brash sometimes and also stammers. He usually wore a pair of  reflective sunglasses that made him look like the former military head of state- general Sanni Abacha; some friends called him that each time he wore the stuff.
He belonged to the Charismatic group of  the school chaplaincy,Anambra state University,Igbariam campus.

He wasn't the showy type and anyone who wasn't  close to him wouldn't realize how spiritual he was.He always led his prayer group to private retreats at the monastery, sometimes fully financed by himself or with little input from his prayer group members. His dad was a major distributor for coca cola and Nigeria mineral water industries.
It was on their way back from one of the retreats as their car broke down along Onitsha-Enugu express way that he met Dada, whose own truck had broken down and was been repaired by a mechanic.

They had three cars and one Nissan truck.
In the usual male introduction pattern, they soon became friends and found out they could relate well, even though they seemed to had different beliefs about a couple of things.
Collins introduced to him again the need to give his life to Jesus and promised to keep in touch. It was always part of his conversations.

Remembering Duke Kahanamoku

His name is Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku. And he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 24, 1890.He had five brothers and three sisters, including Samuel Kahanamoku.

Simply call him  Duke Kahanamoku. He could swim like a fish!He could surf the deadliest waves!

He is known as the father of surfing. Some called him ''human fish" because of his adroit swimming and surfing tactics.

they had been planning to surf a certain water,(with his friends) during his active days when one of them noticed that a certain boat was in trouble because of the waves, obviously. The boat was actually a 40-foot, 5-ton yacht Thelma attempting to enter Newport Harbor through the churning breakers.

what then happened? This guy and his friends could not simply stay there while lives were been taken by the angry waves.

According to  Los Angeles Times,

" The sinking, said the newspaper, "resulted in the drowning of five passengers. Twelve others were pulled from

I Don't Really Want Children

Here is beautiful Yagazie Emezi talking about a rather controversial issue: deliberatley deciding not to have kids.Reasons are not due to health,or any of such things but purely a personal conclusion,as one loves to live her life.

I'm also aware that some men have this view too about having kids. There have been some people who married and also agreed that they don’t want kids.

What's your take on this issue?

Leave your comments below lets get talking.

When I Looked At Her

I had just dropped my pen after my quiet time and stepped out to get me a sachet of cowbel and Ovaltine from the "aboki" who doubles as the gatekeeper of the estate.
As I pulled back the gate my eyes beheld her briskly walking up to my direction, and obviously she was also going to get some stuff from our gatekeeper or the next one.

My heart thumped.Once.Twice.Thrice!I felt it.I tried to swiftly shift my gaze but,Biola was an irresistible beauty. One can't ignore in a hurry. At 24 she was vividly a full grown woman and her beauty was entrancing.I stood there, and for the first time I really appreciated fully what a stunning beauty she was.I almost literally hung on the gate gazing as she continued advancing;I almost forgot what I had come out to do until she came close and waved."hi" ,I had also replied.

Love Is Never Stale:My Experience

On my way I noticed that the traffic was scanty, and it dawned on me that i had miscalculated the time.

I stepped in and only saw a handful of women huddled together at the front, just beside the choir stand, reciting the rosary in a tongue I still haven't been able to follow well.

Was there going to be a Mass today? Was I too early? What happened to me that I lost count of time and presented myself here this early?
Well I knew I hadn't been feeling well since the previous day's outing to the lake; just a minor mood swing subconsciously instilled by things not going the way you expected.

Is It Evil To Breastfeed a Baby In Public?

Thurman breastfeeds her baby
What really is the big deal about breastfeeding a hungry baby in public?

Celebrities expose bare breasts in public and grace front covers of fashion magazines and are paid millions of dollars for such obvious indecent exposure. And this exposure for money isn’t the primary duty of the breasts.

But,an innocent girl uses her breasts to save the life of an innocent baby and it becomes an offence with some people saying they "cant stand the sight"?

So goes the argument. You can make your judgement after reading this article and also contribute to the talk.Read on and leave your comment below.

We all can still recall how just about one year ago,Karlesha Thurman was heavily criticized for breastfeeding her baby at her graduation ceremony and posting the photo online. Many people were outraged by her action and they did not hide their disapproval at all.

When Plastic Surgery Disappoints

I just got quite interested in this post perhaps because of my profession as RN specializing in Burns and Plastic.Hmmmm...you never knew that right? Ok,you just got it.Plastic surgery has done so much to correct so many abnormalities and many deformities. And many lives have been enhanced and many people given hope or chance of survival due to plastic surgery.
When many people here anyone talk about plastic surgery they immediately think of breast implants or butt enhancements. No,its not just about that as I have said above.

Well I repost this just for you to assess and judge if all the fuss sometimes about changing ones natural features for some mundane reasons is really worth it.These kind of surgeries usually are very expensive.
Some do this and come out looking better(in their mind and the eyes of their beholders) but is there anything as original as ones natural parts and features?

Tribute To Nelson mandela

At Whateverlovely......

we also join our colleagues all over the world to celebrate a man who really loved all that was lovely:he loved justice and fought for it;....

he loved fellow men, irrespective of color or religion;he loved his enemies and tormentors who incarcerated him unjustly for 27 long years;.....

He lived a free man though in prison because his spirit was free and fearless...and by so doing he gained freedom for his people.

We all join in bidding this great son of Africa a farewell to the great beyond and wish him peaceful rest in the arms of the Lord.

Adieu MADIBA!
